Re: Status of Concert Organ in
Auditorium at Masonic Center
As many of you know, the
concert organ decided not to cooperate at the Beja Installation
in January, thus there was no music for the Potentate and his
Officers on their very special day. The small organ in the
lodge room was too heavy to move, and the piano has met its
demise.
Jeri Fletcher met with the
organ technician, who sadly informed us that the 30+ year old
instrument had seen its better days, and repairs would involve a
complete overhaul that would be quite costly. The Board gave
approval to pursue other options.
We are happy to report that a
new Yamaha CLP-340 Clavinova (Digital Piano) has been ordered
and will be arriving soon. The instrument offers tremendous
versatility and will be able to be utilized in many ways for our
Masonic family. And…….it will be on wheels, thus it can be
moved.
At the January Building Board
meeting, Beverly Rasmussen offered a very generous donation
toward the purchase of the Clavinova in memory of Paul
Rasmussen, who was Grand Organist for the Grand Commandery and
Grand Lodge of WI, and Organist for many other Masonic
organizations. In addition, Bethel 32, Job’s Daughters has also
given a very nice donation.
At this time, we are asking our
Masonic family - either as individuals, or an organization, to
consider a donation for the purchase of this fine instrument.
The Clavinova will be replacing the concert organ and the piano
(donated in 1974) by a Roosevelt Lodge family.
Please make checks payable to
NEW Masonic Center, and designate “Music Donation Fund.” Send
c/o the Board of Trustees, 525 N. Taylor Street, Green Bay, WI
54303.
If you have any questions,
please contact Jeri Fletcher, Assoc. Director of Music, Bethel
32, 864-7262, or Gerry Brebner, Building Board Treasurer at
(920) 336-8937.
Thank you so very much! |

Thomas L. Strong named Lodge Secretary of the
Year
Wednesday, June 17, 2008
|
 |
Theodore
Roosevelt #322 Lodge Secretary, Thomas L. Strong has been named
"Lodge Secretary of the Year" by the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin.
Tom has been an early adopter of using the "MORI" system for
entering Blue Lodge information into the Grand Lodge's "web based"
database. With the number of new Master Masons being raised in
Roosevelt Lodge, Tom has certainly had his work cut out for him
lately.
Congratulations to Tom on behalf of Roosevelt Lodge. We
are all very proud of him for being recognized and receiving this
special award. |

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Theodore
Roosevelt Lodge #322 raised to "the sublime degree of Master Mason",
five brethren: David Davis, Nicholas Vukich, Michael Belanger, Kevin
Cooper and Sgt. Larry Lange USMC. Starting at 8 a.m. and ending at
about 4 p.m. it was a long day, but there was a feeling of
self-satisfaction by all involved!
The members of Roosevelt Lodge do all
their own degree work and this day was no exception. With several more
new petitions on file, Worshipful Master John Sage may find it useful to
put all these new Master Masons to work -- initiating new candidates!
Congratulations to all! |
